WINTER KIT INITIATIVE (1/18)
This winter, the Generocksity London team decided to do something different with the proceeds from the first event of the year. A low income neighbourhood in South London had a number of residents struggling to purchase winter clothing for their families. Some of these residents were refugee families who had never experienced a Canadian winter. With the funds raised from the event and a donations from our winter clothing drive, we were able to create forty “winter kits” for these families, which included a warm coat, scarf, hat, pair of mitts, and warm pair of socks. These kits were distributed to families in need by the South London Neighbourhood Resource Centre to help these residents stay warm through the winter!

@ LONDON FOODBANK (1/17)
The second Good Deeds initiative was a trip to the London Foodbank. As a group we unpacked, sorted, and stacked food from their Christmas donations. The food bank is a fundamental part of the London community, providing hampers of non-perishable food once a month to those in need. Keep a look out for other opportunities with us to make a difference in the community!
@ DOWNTOWN LONDON (11/16)
The first Good Deeds volunteer trip was held on the streets of downtown London on Friday, November 25th. Our team decided to prepare a wide array of delicious sandwiches (turkey, ham, peanut butter and jelly) for homeless individuals. Unlike in larger cities, homelessness is often hidden from most young adults in Hamilton. The purpose of this first trip was to not only provide many hungry people with a nutritious lunch but also educate young adults about the growing homelessness issue in London.
