Good Times (Events)
GENEROCKSITY PRESENTS: GET PSYCHED! (11/18)
On November 22, 2018, Generocksity Kingston and Bumble Canada were excited to team up and host an incredible night of live music, fun, and friends at The Brooklyn. This event was able to raise $1100 for the Kingston Youth Shelter, a local organization that offers a variety of services to homeless youth between the ages of 16-24 as 1 in 3 homeless individuals in Kingston are adolescents. A special thanks goes out to our amazing local artists who performed for us that night: Bo Welland, Local Band and Ciara Roberts.
GENEROCKSITY PRESENTS: FINAL JAM @THE BROOKLYN (3/18)
On March 22, 2018, Generocksity Kingston was excited to finish off the year with one final jam at the Brooklyn. After 3 extremely successful events throughout the year, we were so excited to be donating 100% of our proceeds to the Kingston Food Sharing Project: a local initiative ensuring that children are not going throughout their school day hungry. Featuring local artists such as Evan Jackson, Emma Langlois, Late Dorian and Brightside, it was a great night of live music and awesome company! A special thanks to Dominos Pizza for again partnering with us and providing a generous donation for the event!
GENEROCKSITY AND ROOTED FOOD CO. PRESENT: BREWS, BEATS AND EATS 2.0 (11/17)
On November 9th, 2017, Generocksity Kingston and Rooted Foods Co. teamed up again to host an incredible night of fun, friends and food. This event raised over $1000 for the Poppy Fund of the Royal Canadian Legion in support of our veterans. The night featured an amazing lineup of artists including Julia Finnegan, The Corks, and Bo Welland. A special thanks goes out to Dominos Pizza for the generous donation to the event!
GENEROCKSITY PRESENTS: GOOD KARMA (9/17)
On September 28th, 2017, Generocksity Kingston hosted their sold out event, Good Karma, at the Brooklyn. The night featured performances by Erez Zobary, The Dirty Nelsons, and The Brightside. The event raised $2,030 for Motionball Kingston which is a branch of the not-for-profit organization that builds awareness and raises funds for the Special Olympics Canada Foundation.
GENEROCKSITY PRESENTS: GET LUCKY @ TRINITY SOCIAL (3/17)
On March 17th, 2017, people got lucky with Generocksity - Kingston at Trinity Social. First Capital Entertainment DJs kept the St. Patrick's Day celebrations going through the night. We are so excited to be donating 100% of this event’s proceeds, $3, 153, directly to Ryandale Shelter for the Homeless. Ryandale Shelter is the only shelter in Kingston providing 24/7 emergency accommodation and support to men, women, and families with children, all under the same roof. Beyond the provision of a warm place to sleep, Ryandale Shelter works to build greater social inclusion and a renewed sense of hope in their residents.
GENEROCKSITY PRESENTS: WINTER SESSIONS @ THE BROOKLYN (1/17)
On January 19th, 2017, Generocksity - Kingston threw a sold-out party at the Brooklyn, featuring local artists and craft beer, and most importantly, the great company of 230 young adults in attendance. The night featured the chill acoustic tunes of Relative, Steph and Sammy, and Elspeth Poulson. 100% of this event’s $2,060 in proceeds are going directly to Extra Awesome. In partnership with the Down Syndrome Association of Kingston, Extra Awesome provides academic support & physical activity for youth with exceptionalities.
GENEROCKSITY PRESENTS: JAVA GOOD DAY @ QUEEN'S ARC (12/16)
On December 1st, Generocksity - Kingston partnered with Balzac Coffee to provide students with free coffee as their finals exams fast approached, brightening the day of many.
GENEROCKSITY PRESENTS: LIVE & LOCAL @ THE BROOKLYN (10/16)
On October 20th 2016, Generocksity-Kingston held their much-anticipated event at the Brooklyn, will all proceeds directly going to Almost Home Kingston. Almost Home's mission is to provide a place of comfort and respite for families whose children are receiving medical treatment in Kingston-area hospitals. The night featured a stellar line up of local artists, including the soulful melodies and country-inspired instrumentation of Jesse Gold, the garage-rock band Bo Welland, and the jazzy tunes of Aidan Carr. The show sold out, with over 200 people in attendance, and raised a total of $2750 for Almost Home.
GENEROCKSITY & ROOTED FOODS CO. PRESENT: BREWS, BEATS & EATS @ THE BROOKLYN (3/16)
On March 30th 2016, Generocksity-Kingston teamed up with student-run Rooted Foods Company to host an amazing event at The Brooklyn Public House with all proceeds going directly to Loving Spoonful, a local charity that provides food to homeless shelters across Kingston. The event featured several local bands including Aidan Carr, Keith and Connor, the Tidman Sisters and Curfew. The event was completely sold out and raised over $2500.
GENEROCKSITY PRESENTS: NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTIONS @ THE UNDERGROUND (1/16)
On January 16th 2016, Generocksity Kingston hosted our second amazing event at The Underground, will all proceeds benefitting Camp Trillium. The night started with a bang with local band Listen Up Kid, kicked into full gear brilliantly with The Attic Kids, and finished with the incredible DJ MERS. The event was a massive success and raised over $1820 to help kids with cancer and their families in the local area.
GENEROCKSITY PRESENTS: PARTY WITH A PURPOSE @ THE ALE HOUSE (10/15)
On October 7th 2015, we had our first ever charity party in Kingston at The Ale House with all proceeds benefitting the Kingston Youth Shelter. This great charity party began with two awesome rock and folk bands, The Wilderness and Birds of Bellwoods and was followed by two of Kingston's most talented DJs, Kuya and DJ Dimma. The event was a huge success and raised over $2150 to help underprivileged youth in the Greater Kingston area.
@ KINGSTON HOSPICE (4/17)
Our next Good Deeds event will be with the Kingston Hospice on April 1st from 9am-12pm. This organization’s vision is to provide comfort, support, and companionship to individuals and families living a life-limiting illness or coping with grief and loss. The hospice staff has many responsibilities besides caring for their residence including, planning fundraisers, child and youth engagement, and community services! One of the tasks completed by the hospice is maintaining the community garden and they need some support in this area. So all you philanthropic/earth lovers, if you are interested in volunteering, sign up here.
@ THE BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB (12/16)
The second Good Deeds volunteer trip of the year was held at the Boys and Girls Club of Kingston on Friday, December 2nd. This organization focused on providing a safe, supportive place where children and youth can experience new opportunities, overcome barriers, build positive relationships and develop confidence and skills for life!
@ MARTHA'S TABLE (9/16)
On September 30th, Generocksity - Kingston had its first volunteer outreach event where they went to Martha's Table and spent a few hours sorting food and cleaning the kitchen. Martha's Table is a non-profit charitable organization that provides low cost nutritious meals to those in need within the community. In a safe and accepting environment, meals are served Monday through Friday in a restaurant-style setting. These events not only allow you to give back, but they help you build connections, meet knew people and leave you feeling fulfilled. Keep a look out for more opportunities where you can make an impact in your local community!
Consulting & Collaboration
In addition to organizing big fundraising parties and educational workshops, Generocksity also provides free one-on-one consultations for young adults that are strongly considering starting their own philanthropic project or have already started a project and need some additional support. Generocksity consultants have the experience and knowledge to help your resource-stretched organization attract the support it deserves and achieve its philanthropic goals. We provide services to a wide variety of non-profits and student clubs with an emphasis on helping small to medium sized organizations achieve their fundraising potential.
